Superbowl and Rockband: Ain't Nothing But a Chicken Wing

Hello friends and neighbors! Thanks for dropping by to hear the nitty gritty about this years Superbowl with Mr. Bat and his amazing compadres!

This years Superbowl event was almost a no go due to the awful Snowpocalypse that was shutting down the world we call T-town. Mr. Bat was making things work as best he could, and I Ms. Bat was cooking as best I could. Much had to be done, if we were to pull off the small gathering event of the Football season. In short, drinks and wings were needed. Supplies at Starbase were getting low.

And so one day prior to the event, Mr. and Ms. Bat ventured forth on foot, wary for any dangers that might be lurking in the snow banks. Various snacks and drinks were needed to ensure sustained lifespan. The adventurers only had one moment that gave them pause when it seems that La Fours was using melting snow to detain any and all "suspicous" individuals. Sadly for La Fours, Mr and Ms Bat were fast thinkers, and dodged the trap by cutting through a snowy tundra leading back to Starbase.

Once back to Starbase, the communicator was used to contact Wing Stop to order the Superbowl Wings and talk to J-Dog. Finding a shuttle to the base, J-Dog came to the rescue and helped to disloge the USS Batavan from its snowy prison. With the launch area cleared, we adjourned inside to finish a dinner of BBQ Pork and Potato Soup. A trial run of the USS Batavan was called for and we made the trip to the 21st Harvard sector to see J-Dog home safe. Travel was mostly secure through the sectors despite a large quantaty of Snowpocalypse debris.

Superbowl Sunday dawned cold but clear. A quick contact to the delivery service You Buy We Fly confirmed a 1600 hours pickup for the celebratory eats. Mr Bat ventured forth in the USS Batavan to pickup J-Dog, Tenacious B and "the Snitch" for the afternoon celebrations. As a return of Snowpocalypse was a concern, provisions were brought with and picked up and the local market to ensure the survival of all members of the Starbase crew. Froggy was in and out of Starbase due to a crazed slave driver requiring he brave Snowpocalypse and make pizzas for University students who would dare risk themselves in the storm for sustenence.

Ms Bat had already baked several sheets of cookies, to the delight of everyone. There was much snacking to be had. J-Dog deciding to make use of the Snowpocalypse leftovers, made a cooler from its remains at the door of Starbase. It amused the Admiral and his wife who had stopped by to return some Media files to Mr Bat. More media was exchanged and then the Admiral and his lady were on thier way.

Superbowl started with some ceremony. There was singing and bands playing. Lea Michelle sang "O beautiful" which went over well despite her being dressed and made up to look much older than she is. She was followed by Christina Aguillera who trashed the USA National Anthem by forgetting words and over doing the trills and  scales. Starbase was rooting for the Steelers, but alas it was not to be. The Half Time Show was even more disappointing. The Black Eyed Peas are good recording artists but CANNOT give a decent live show. Fergie trashed Sweet Child Of Mine and it was pondered  from the Starbase folk just how much did they pay Slash to endure that? In the end it was a bit of a close call but the Green Bay Packers won the Superbowl.

Following the game, Rockband for Wii was put on and the whole crew got involved. "The snitch" dressed up with scarves and hats, even dresses and rocked the mic for a few songs. Mr Bat rocked the drums, then the keyboards and J-dog was working the Bass. Tenacious B decided to be the group photographer. Ms. Bat was on vocals and keyboards for most of the night, but she did attempt drums at one point. Everyone was having fun, even Froggy who joined in the fun to recreate some old memories for Mr. Bat and J-Dog. Everyone had a blast until it was after midnight and everyone needed sleep.

And so this brings the Tale of Superbowl Wings to a close. As Mr. Bat is fond of saying, "Be Excellent to Eachother!"
